Berjaya Langkawi Resort Rainforest Chalet Review (2023)
I recently decided to go for a nature retreat and Berjaya Langkawi Resort Rainforest Chalets at Langkawi was the perfect option for my little relaxing getaway.
Langkawi Island is a tiny tropical paradise that is part of a cluster of 99 islands, forming an archipelago on Andaman Sea.
I’m so glad to have stayed at Berjaya Langkawi Resort! The resort is located on Burau Bay of Andaman Sea, bordered by water that shifts from a calming azure to sparkling emeralds under the sun.
The resort is also surrounded by a rainforest, where you can choose to explore hundreds of flora and fauna in the wild.
During my 3 days and 2 nights (3D2N) stay at the resort, all I did was enjoy the natural amenities and facilities. Plus, our package came with a bunch of things to do and lots of free delicious food!
If you’re looking for a luxury beach resort that offers both; sandy beach vibes and lush tropics, you’ll love staying at Berjaya Langkawi Resort.

Berjaya Langkawi Resort Rainforest Chalet Review
I decided to book the Rainforest Naturally retreat to gain the full nature experience. Here are details such as – what was provided, how much it cost, transportation and more.
Rainforest Chalet Price Per Night
Rainforest Chalet pricing per night for two adults varies from RM500-RM700 (USD 115 – USD 155) depending on travel season.
What Our Rainforest Package Included:
1. Accommodation at a rainforest chalet
They have many rainforest chalets, and I got to stay in one not too deep in the rainforest. I loved the exterior of the chalets, they reminded me of traditional Malay houses. Of course, the interior was the contrary, it was luxurious, air-conditioned and had a very comfortable bed!
Since our accommodation was located at the edge of a rainforest, we were warned by the hotel staff to keep our front door and balcony locked at all times as clever monkeys might visit us.
2. Daily buffet breakfast or picnic by the beach
We were given the choice of having a daily buffet breakfast at Dayang Cafe or having a picnic by the beach. Since had two morning breakfasts, we decided to opt for one each just to get the feel of both!
There were a good mix of Asian and Western food at the buffet breakfast. There were baos, roti canai, tosai, nasi lemak and stir-fry noodles.
There were also vegetarian and vegan options, perfect for those with dietary restrictions.
3. Welcome drink
When we first arrived at the hotel, we were ushered to the lobby lounge, where we were served Butterfly Pea Tea while the staff made arrangements for our check-in.
4. Daily complimentary minibar
Who doesn’t love free snacks?
I loved that our mini bar was restocked daily! There were a few cans of soft drinks, beer, chocolate, chips and some peanuts.
5. Complimentary flow of beverage
Every day, from 5-7pm, we had complimentary drinks at Rimba Sports Bar. They consist of wine, beer and fruit juices.
6. Daily dinner set meals
One of the best parts of the trip was the delicious food! I like that we had the option to choose which restaurant we wanted to have dinner at.
All set meals came with a starter, main course and dessert.
The restaurants were:
- Dayang Cafe – a Malaysian-western cuisine
- Beach Brasserie – westernized cuisine with more seafood options
- Pahn-Thai – authentic Thai food (my personal favourite because it was located in the middle of the sea with a majestic sunset view, very romantic!)
7. Flora & fauna guidebook
Since we chose the rainforest package, we were given a flora and fauna guide which was interesting. It has descriptions and photos of species we might come across on our walk or whenever we look out our balcony.
8. Nature walk or usage of bicycle
Every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday, you get to go for a 1 hour guided nature walk or cycle around the resort.

Transportation
Getting around the resort was pretty easy. The hotel had a 24/7 shuttle system where all you had to do is make a call requesting a ride and they’ll be outside your door in 10 minutes or less to take you to any destination within their resort.
I barely had to do any walking as the transportation was super quick and efficient!
What To Do In Berjaya Langkawi Resort
Here are some things we did on our 3D2N stay at Berjaya Langkawi Resort and some that we did not manage to do but would love to:
1. Sunbathe At The Beach
2. Swim At The Pool
3. Grab A Cocktail At The Pool Bar
4. Have a romantic evening lying down on the beach
There’s a fire show on the beach. You can sit and watch for free but you have to buy at least a drink. So we got our cocktails and they have us cushion mats to lie down and watch the show.
It was pretty romantic, there was a beautiful moon in the sky and the sound of the waves at night are really calming.
5. Have A Drink At Rimba Sports Bar
6. Have Dinner At Pahn Thai
A beautiful authentic Thai restaurant located in the middle of the ocean. Located near the restaurant are the sea view chalets on water.
7. Enjoy A Picnic By The Beach
This was part of the Rainforest Chalet package. We chose to have the picnic instead of the regular buffet breakfast.
In the picnic basket were:
- Two sets of Nasi Lemak
- Orange juice
- Baked goods
- Fruits
- Coffee & tea
8. Explore Water Activities
We didn’t get to try any of the water sports this time, but you can download the brochure here to learn more.
9. Visit Taaras Spa
Same goes with the spa, we didn’t visit it! But here’s more details on what they offer.
10. Go For A Guided Nature Walk
We really wanted to go for the nature walk! But it was at 7pm and it clashed with our reservations at Pahn-Thai.
Restaurants Near Berjaya Langkawi Resort
The nearest restaurants are in the resort itself.
The best thing about staying in a luxurious resort like Berjaya Langkawi is that there are many food and beverage outlets in the resort itself. You don’t have to leave the resort ro enjoy a hearty traditional local meal or, if you prefer, a Westernised cuisine.
Dayang Cafe
Authentic local dishes, with local ingredients and culture embedded in the preparation of food at Dayang Café. If you’re in for a feast of flavours unique to Malaysia, this is a good option!
Boat House Bar
There is a boat house bar at the beach and also at the pool side where you can order food and drinks.
Beach Brasserie
To fulfil your island getaway, dining in a beach restaurant in Langkawi is a must. Located right on our private beach front, the resort’s Beach Brasserie offers an extensive menu of Western cuisine.
Pahn-Thai Restaurant
I loved the view here. It was one of the most beautiful sceneries I’ve ever seen. Right behind me is the rainforest and you can see a peek of the emerald waters on each side of the walkway.
Our set meal for two consisted of:
- Rice
- Fish (two options of Thai style)
- Red curry prawns
- Minced Chicken
- Stir-fry vegetables
- Sticky Mango Rice (dessert)
